Volunteers needed by Devon County Council to become Independent School Appeals Panellists to decide outcomes of admission and exclusion appeals

Volunteers needed by Devon County Council to sit on Independent Panels that decide the outcomes of admission and exclusion appeals that have been lodged against the Admitting Authority. They are aiming to recruit panellists now who will be trained in Spring 2022 and would like to the word out to local areas.

Appeal hearings are currently being held remotely but when these return to in-person hearings you will receive travel expenses and lunch will be provided. No experience is required to be a volunteer; you will receive two full days training from an experienced barrister and a number of Devon County Council staff are available to get you up to speed on using remote videoconferencing technologies.
