Dittisham Parish Council seeks a Parish Clerk/ RFO to support this friendly and active parish in the South Hams.
The Council has a number of assets including two car parks and the Ham, a community green space and playground area adjacent to the River Dart.
The post is for 14 hours per week which can be worked flexibly according to need. The salary is in accordance with National Association of Local Council (NALC) scales depending upon experience. Leave and other employment entitlements are in accordance with NALC guidance
The Clerk/RFO is responsible for managing the Council’s day to day business, providing advice, and implementing decisions. This includes managing a budget of some £70k.
There are 9 parish councillors and the Council meets in the evening on the first Wednesday of each month (excluding August) with occasional ad hoc committee meetings. All other hours are worked flexibly from home.
We are looking for a person with excellent administrative and financial skills, an ability to advise the Council on the statutory frameworks within which it operates, and who has the interpersonal skills to communicate with parishioners.
