DALC Training Officer, Elise Callaghan, reflected on her experience attending a webinar from Breakthrough Communications (a DALC partner) covering emotional intelligence, and the impact it can have on council roles.
“I have always been interested in the ‘mind-body’ connection and how our emotions and thoughts translate into behaviours – sometimes good and sometimes not so good. This webinar provides councillors and officers with an understanding of where our behaviours come from, what resilience means in the context of our council roles, and how we might build emotional resilience to manage what are often stressful and difficult situations.”
